Ventolin ; infection: It is not uncommon for children to get viral respiratory infections, that cause them to have wheezing as an accompanying symptom. The ventolin is given to help with the wheezing and allow the child to breath better. A common side effect to the medication can be an elevation in the child heart rate, but this is not usually a problem. 3 times a day for the ventolin is also not excessive.
