Cracked Heels: Cracked heels can be caused by fungus or an array of skin disorders, but it is usually caused by excessively dry skin. It is more common in the winter months, and can be quite painful. For deep cracks that move with every step, i tell my patients to use superglue to seal the cut. Then use either urea cream or ammonium lactate to soften and moisturize the skin.

Cracked heels: As already stated , good old dry skin is a frequent cause. Also , as stated , fungal infections can cause this. Also an aberrant response to pressure can cause callous formation that can split and crack . See your podiatrist for the best way to tackle the problem .
