Sword swallower?: Don't try this at home. It is possible for a doc to pass a tube down your throat, past the larynx (not through the larynx-that would lead to the trachea (windpipe))- that is part of bronchoscopy (a pulmonary test to look at the breathing tubes., and into the esophagus, even into the stomach and small intestine. That is basically an upper endoscopy.
