Symptoms: He'll have intermittent fever, almost on a cycle. Increasing rlq pain. Decreased appetite. He needs to notify his surgeon. A post op abscess, though uncommon, is clearly possible, especially if he had ruptured appendicitis. A ct would show the abscess, and this could be drained percutaneously by interventional radiology. Oral antibiotics would also be added. Good luck.

Pain: I assume he had an appendectomy. Signs of an abscess would include worsening pain and fever/chills. If he is having these he needs to follow up with the surgeon.

Fever and abd pain: If you had an appendicitis, you will have fever, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. If you were treated and still have these symptoms, you might wanna see a doctor. If untreated and it was an abscess, it might cause perforation which requires emergent surgery.

Appendicitis: This is way to vague to give definitive advice other than appendicitis means appendix usually needs to be removed surgically. Was this done? Who diagnosed the situation and what treatment was recommended? Appendicitis if untreated can be fatal! symptoms would be fever, nausea, intense abdominal pain, untreated consequences could be as extreme as death, what to do, get to the dr or er asap.

See surgeon: Pain, fever. Chills.Nausea. An abscess will continue to grow till it ruptures and causes peritonitis which could lead to death.
