What microbe?: If you were exposed to Meningococcal disease, ask the company physician what is best. Other causes of meningitis are not especially catching.

Ask health dept: First, i'm sorry about your co-worker. If he or she had Meningococcal meningitis, it would have been reported to the health department in your state. They contact everyone who had close contact with the person, and treat them with antibiotics. If that hasn't happened, it's more likely it was viral meningitis, which you don't need to worry about.
