Other causes are head injury, vascular problems/stroke, tiny pathogens (pick's disease, for one), parkinson's, huntington's, extensive drug/alcohol abuse, and more. 'senility' is now a non-standard term that refers generally to dementia or less severe age-related cognitive decline.
