Exercise: Depending on your specific goals, any kind or form of exercise is good for your health. Jogging generally an aerobic activity and will major benefits in the cardiovascular arena. Lifting weights is not just for show, but is important in building lean body muscle mass, strengthening bones, and stability. Your decision: In general, aerobic exercise is good (jogging) for you. Lifting weights is a personal preference, as it will helping you tone your muscles and you can lift weights and alter your daily routine as you want to get "larger muscles" or to just tone yourself. The fact that you are interested in any type of exercise is encouraging, keep up the good work.

Both: Definitely both - jogging will build cardiovascular health in addition to strength, whereas weight work will obviously increase strength more so than cardiovascular health.Increased strength is beneficial to protect your joints and ligaments/tendons, in addition to making your everyday life easier - also, increased muscle mass will increase your baseline metabolism, which helps with weight control.

Isometric, isotonic: Isometric straining type exercise is not as healthy as isotonic aerobic type exercise. Heavy weight lifting can elevate your blood pressure and cause enlargement of the heart. It is mainly for toning and building up muscles and in my opinion, can be unhealthy if overdone. Light weight lifting is ok.

Cross train: Combine aerobic exercise like cycling, running, jogging , skipping rope, rowing , hiking, playing tennis with anaerobic exercise like strength training, pushups, lunges, bicep curls, and flexibility exercises. All exercise is good for overall health. By the way you will look good too!
