A member asked:

What tests needed to diagnose kidney infection? will it detect through urine analysis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pyelonephritis: Kidney infections are usually heralded with fever, flank pain of significant severity, rapid pulse and respirations and can be a medical emergency. If you are talking, however, about a simple UTI this is usually manifest by increased frequency of urination and pain on urination and possibly pain over the bladder. Urinalysis is often helpful, but most important is history and physical exam.
