Pituitary adenoma: Pituitary adenomas a benign tumors that off compress the pituitary gland and cause imbalance of the hormones. After surgery the hormones can be further disrupted from manipulating the gland when removing the tumor. Alternatively, an infection could arise in the surgical operative site. It is important to see your surgeon to determine the cause of the hot flashes and flushing.

Pituitary adenoma: Normally a hot flushed face is not associated with this surgery. But if this persists then would recommend a followup visit with the ENT md just to rule out an infection.

Steroids/infection?: Sometimes this surgery is done through the nose. If so, your nasal cavity is packed and you are at risk for infection, which can cause a flushed face. Or you may have received steroids as part of the surgery. This also causes a flushed face. Call your surgeon's office and let him or her know about this! check your temperature, too; they will ask if you have a fever.
