It depends: If the fallopian tube is obstructed ovulation still occurs (in the ovary) but the ovule can not travel through the blocked tube. If both tubes are blocked that will probably prevent the patient from getting pregnant but if only one is blocked the other may function normally and still permit pregnancy. The patient may have symptoms like pain on that side. Consulting a gynecologist is recommended.

Not correct: You can ovulate with normal, with blocked, or with no tubes. The ovaries do not talk to the tubes. There are extremely rarely going to be symptoms with a blocked tube: 99% of the time you will only know if you do a test/study. An x-ray called hsg can be used to test tubes, tubes can also be tested at the time of laparoscopy (surgery.).

No: The tube transports eggs and sperm. The ovaries make eggs and cause them to drop or ovulate, so if the tube or tubes are blocked the egg releases, has no where to go, and dies off and gets reabsorbed.
