Yes.: Hcg is a hormone that rises predictably after becoming pregnant. There are at home tests (urine dipstick test) that simply test for the presence of HCG at a certain concentration found in pregnancy, but a blood draw in a doctor's office or hospital is required to determine the absolute HCG level.
