Tooth infections: Yes, tooth infections can spread to surrounding (and even distant) locations causing serious complications. As a matter of fact, people have died from untreated tooth infections. I personally know of such cases! see a dentist asap for diagnosis and treatment. It is nothing to take lightly.

Yes: Lower teeth may cause swelling if the infection is severe enough. Please see your dentist for treatment.
