Rectal pain: This could be an anal fissure which is where straining with hard stool causes a tear in the outer rectum. It could also be a hemorrhoid which is an engorged swollen vein in the rectum caused by straining to eliminate hard stool. They can both be painful. There are creams and suppositories that your doctor can prescribe. See your doctor for correct diagnosis. Hydrate and try not to strain.
