Ok remeron (mirtazapine) is not working still depressed no energy bad mood and no sleep what is a good antidepressant for sleep and depression?

See below.: U may need your dose increased, although some people may get less sleepy on a higher dose. If u have tried it for at least 4 wks, then another med like trazodone, vistaril, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or melatonin may work. Doxepin or nortriptyline may also help, but make sure to get an ekg, esp. If u have a heart condition. Also, u should be checked to see if you suffer from bipolar depression. Try exercise in am.

Psychotherapy: Do not assume the answer is medication. For most patients with depression, the effects of antidepressant medication are indistinguishable from placebo. Medication alone is not good treatment for depression. Psychotherapy (by itself, or in combination with medication) is the appropriate treatment.
