A member asked:

Water in my ear? i can hear deep down in left ear a thumping. its like a viberation or gurgling or a dulled down "wood pecker noise". is it water?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

?heart beat: A thumping sound in the ear may be an awareness of your heart beat. The carotid artery is very near the cochlea (inner ear hearing organ). Water in the ear canal usually resolves with head movement over a short period of time. Water or fluid behind the ear drum usually is associated with hearing loss. See an ENT doctor for an appropriate diagnosis.
