Urethral irritation: During intercourse, the female urethra is often irritated-this may give you urgency and frequency of urination. Some women actually develop an infection often referred to as "honeymoon cystitis" and take an antibacterial medication by mouth either as a preventative or to treat the infection if it develops. You may have to change your position during intercourse to avoid the urethral irritation.
