Yes: Not having periods can mean that you are not ovulating. There could be systemic reasons for not ovulating, such as problems with your pituitary or thyroid gland. In addition, some women would be at increased risk for bone loss without ovulation, others might be at increased risk for uterine cancer. Bottom line, you need to see a doctor to discuss this. Birth control pills may be a good answer.
