The only way: To truely differentiate those symptoms is to do a serum or urine HCG test.Breast tenderness and swelling, cramping, and and many other early pregnancy symptoms are the same as period symptoms. Doc can do a blood test that is the most sensitive. Don't forget that Depo-Provera can help protect you from pregnancy, but it doesn't do anything for std's--which frequently are forever for women.
