Will go away: If your bruise presented after trauma this is normal and will go away with time, ice and rest. You could also try arnica cream to hasten resolution if the bruise. If the bruise is interfering with your vision you should see your eye doctor to evaluate your eye. If the bruise presented spontaneously this is not normal and should be evaluated by your eye doctor.

Have your eye doc ck: If you bruise, and unable to look up, or sideways, have this checked to make sure you don't have an orbital fracture possible on the floor, that's not visible to someone just looking at the bruise. This is easy to test for, and can be easily imaged too. Don't wait, as you don't want fascial adhesions, eom to be trapped in the orbital floor fracture if it's present. Just don't want to miss it.
