A member asked:

Concussion & whiplash, what's the difference and is it serious ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brain vs neck : A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury usually after a direct blow to the head or a violent collision. Common symptoms include headache, dizziness, neck pain, memory and concentration problems. Whiplash is a strain/sprain involving the neck muscles and ligaments usually seen during a deceleration mechanism such as a car wreck. The degree of seriousness varies from patient to patient.
