Canine teeth: Canine taste are not typically removed during orthododtic treatment because they are the foundation of your dental arch. They have the longest strongest roots and are important to maintain rip these teeth if. At all possible. See an orthodontist about all of your treatment options.

Not ideally: In general, unless your canine teeth were impacted ; not retrievable or broken down beyond reasonable repair, i would try to save the canines! having said that, without personally examining you ; seeing x-rays of your teeth along with the professional judgement of a respected orthodontist, we cannot tell you what is right for your particular circumstances over the internet. Get a 2nd ; 3rd opinion.

Yes: . If your orthodontist feels it is necessary, rest assured that it is a recognized form of treatment; especially if your eye teeth are far out of position, malformed or have decay.. If needed, your dentist can slightly reshape your bicuspids to more closely resemble eye teeth.

Safe, yes: Desirable, no. As canines are exceptionally important functionally and esthetically, Orthodontic Specialists prefer to not remove canines. Sometimes because of position, shape, or health of the canines they must be removed. Note: All Orthodontists are Dentists, but only 5% of Dentists are Orthodontic Specialists. Please see a specialist Orthodontist to discuss options.
