Irregular periods: Sounds like your are having a lot of anovulatory cycles (that means you don't ovulate) this causes you to skip periods for months. There are causes for this, and it's worth discussing with and ob/gyn to see if any testing or therapy is indicated. As far as fertility, if you are not ovulating regularly it may be more difficult to conceive because you are not ever sure when you ovulate, or even if.
