What could cause a woman to have multiple periods in one month & very heavy?

Likely not periods: Probably not 2 periods in a month but some form of dysfuntional bleeding: often ovulatory dysfuntion, could be anatomic problems like fibroids or polyps. If this continues see an obg soon!
