Why vitamins: A recent finish study showed that people who take vitamins especially those containing iron, copper, etc, are at a higher risk of death than the general population. The only vitamins that didn't increase that risk were vitamin d and calcium. You should get necessary vitamins from the food you eat. If your diet is poor in vitamins, you should strive to balance it rather than taking artificial ones.
