Can parasites contribute to cancer?

Maybe: The question is very broad, and it depends upon which of hundreds of known parasites you are referring to. If you have a specific parasite or group of parasites in mind, please reframe the question.

I know of one: Example. Schistosoma hematobium endemic in the nile infests the bladder, chronically irritates it leading to the unusual squamous cell type. It's the chronicity of the infection more than the parasite itself.
