A member asked:

Why do we get dark circles around eye. what is the cure for it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood vessels dilate: The dark circles that can appear around eyes (often noted early in the morning especially during allergy season) are due to dilation of the blood vessels in the eyelids. Enlarged blood vessels underneath the thin tissue of the eyelid skin will give the skin a dark appearance (especially if the dilated vessels are veins which carry the darker deoxegenated blood).
