My girlfriend has this stringy white substance usually around where her clitorus is located it grosses me out is this some sort of infection or an std?

Probably OK...but...: Such described substance is called smegma between clitoris and its hood - like the prepuce of penis. It's the accumulation of shed dead skin cells and keratin, and normal. So, just flush and wash gently without overdoing with much soap and no "brushing". If more doubt, see doctor timely. Best wish...
