Muscle spasm/TMJ: Wisdom teeth extractions can created muscle spasms = pain like you have. Simple solution is to heat both sides of the face/ear/joint with warm moist heat. Then slowly open your mouth a far as able. Keep "repeating" until you can open wide enough for a sandwich easy entry. Keep doing this for days until you have no more pain.

Hmmm : You may be getting referred pain or it may be something else. My recommendation would be to check this out with both another dentist and your physician to rule out an ear infection. Or... You can trust your dentist, take some otc pain medication and just wait it out to see if it improves.

Dry socket : The symptoms you describe are very classic for a dry socket. This happens when the blood clot in extraction site breaks down. This needs to be treated by cleaning out the site and placing a special packing. You need to be seen by an oral surgeon. Do not take no for an answer.
