My neurosurgeon has ordered a 4 level discogram what is it and what should i expect during this diagnostic test? i can't have mri"s or myelograms.

I'm confused: The contrast used to inject the disc for a discogram is essentially the same as for a myelogram. If you are allergic to it how can you have a discogram?
