Further evaluation: Platelet can increase due to different conditions- primary bone marrow problem vs secondary causes like reactive process from bleeding, iron deficiency, inflammation, etc. You need to be followed up and get more evaluation. If needed, your md can refer you to see a hematologist.

This is high: High platelet counts(>500, 000) are abnormal and increase the risk of blood clots. Two issues are important: 1. To find out the cause of your high platelets? 2. Seek treatment for this problem. A good hematologist is what you need in order to guide you further. You should also get a recheck of your CBC in order to confirm if the platelet counts are stable or changing up or down. This will help.
