Can be done: A TAH (total abdominal hysterectomy) consists of the removal of the uterus (womb) and ovaries. Years ago it was common to remove the (normal) appendix at the same time to avoid the risk of future appendicitis (1% lifetime risk more or less). This isn't commonly done these days because of a slight risk of complications from removing the appendix, it's not commonly done for that reason.
