Neck strain vs HNP: Could be referred from cervical spine due to a disc herniation. If hx of trauma, then it could just be a strain that should get better w/ time.

Time to see doc: It could lots of things - most likely a muscle strain that's not getting better... But... Your doctor will do a detailed history and physical exam, listen to your lungs, heart, etc, to make sure nothing else is going on.
