Earache: It is likely the earache will go away. If it is related to the sore throat, the antibiotic will help. If not, it is likely it will resolve anyway. I recommend ibuprofin for the pain. If it persists for more than a few days, you should be re-examined by your doctor.

Strep throat: The nerve that provides feeling to the back of the throat provides innervation for the ear canal. You can develop referred pain from the throat to be felt in the ear. This should diminish with resolution of the strep throat. The other consideration is that with congestion there may be some obstruction of the eustacian tube leading from back of throat to middle ear and decongestants may help.
