My son in 10 yrs old and 1yr ago was diagnosed with chronic acid reflux. when it acts up he complains of severe pain then vomits bile is this normal?

No: Chronic acid reflux in children of those ages is somewhat rare. Not sure how the diagnosis was made but throwing up bile and having severe pain in the abdomen is definitely not normal. They need to see a doc.

NO: This is not close to normal and deserves further evaluation. The conventional approach to reflux leaves much to be desired. I advise you seek the care of a good holistic md (ronald hoffman in manhattan would be a good choice).
