A member asked:

My 3 year old son has muscus in his poop and smells really sour, he has had it for at least 3/4 weeks ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mucous: Children do swallow quite a bit of mucous from their nose and throat (they aren't particularly effective at blowing their nose or coughing phlegm out). This can end up in their stool as well. If the stool is very loose, more than 4-5 times per day, there may be an infection cause, and your child should be seen by his doctor.
