PCOS: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is routinely treated with a combination of diet medication and fertility drugs for people who desire pregnancy. Wedge resection of the ovaries used to be performed but has fallen out of favor due to adhesions and problems after the surgery. Though surgery is not commonly performed, the polycystic ovaries can be treated with a laparoscopic procedure called "ovarian drilling which puts small punctate holes in the follicles and can stimulate ovulation. I would recommend that your relatively speak to our obgyn regarding specific recommendations.
