Depends on stage: If TB skin test + but negative chest xray & no symptoms+ no need to be separated from the infant. These individuals are often on TB meds & are considered low risk for spreading the germ. Those with new or active disease are separated from baby until disease status is confirmed & pt & baby receive meds & TB pt wears a mask. Specific issues should be confirmed with local specialists.
