A member asked:

Is there a medication given to a child during a long travel trip to keep him quiet or asleep ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes: Extended travel is difficult for children. Try to break up the trip and allow for 'wiggle time'. Distraction with new activities, games, and toys (even ones which have been put away for awhile prior to travel and now feel new again) can help. Some parents use diphendyramine, but be careful, in many children it has the reverse effect and causes wound-up irritable behavior.
