Health risks: While transmission of HIV through saliva is extremely low, if an HIV person had a bleeding wound and your decayed ("cavity") tooth had open infection, blood-to-blood contact could happen. More importantly however, an HIV patient may have a compromised immune system and be unable to fight viruses and bacteria efficiently. Cavity is an infectious disease also.
