Get checked first: If you know you have arthritis, it would be prudent to have your neck evaluated by an orthopaedist or spine specialist, possibly with neck x-rays to evaluate stability before pursuing any type of exercise/stretching. Once "clear", many patients with arthritic conditions find yoga, in particular, "hot" yoga (bikram) beneficial.
