Have it evaluated.: Pain due to trauma may be due to fracture, sprains, arthritis, muscle, nerve or tendon injuries. Have the foot evaluated so that you get the appropriate care. You may need to have it immobilized. You may need a bone scan or an MRI if the x-rays were inconclusive.

Likely your sprained: Ankle hasn't fully healed. Avoid running, keep the brace on, rest the ankle for at least 3-4 weeks and then get pt to strengthen the ankle muscles ; ligaments. If not improving see an orthopod and maybe get a MRI to ensure the ligaments are intact, otherwise surgery might be needed, after all conservative measures have failed to improve. Good luck.
