It depends: Pain from gallstones can be a bit tricky. It can by dull or sharp, in the right upper portion of the abdomen or in the middle upper portion. Complications from gallstone disease can be serious. See a doctor.

Gallstone pain.: Gallstone pain does not have to be severe to be consistent with gallstone pain. But it does have to be colicky, which means it would feel like something is intermittently squeezing-and-releasing in your right upper abdominal quadrant. Hence the term biliary colic.
