About

Bio

Martin J. Wolff, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and an attending gastroenterologist at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and is subspecialty trained in gastroenterology. After years of severe symptoms, multiple second opinions, and a lengthy hospitalization, Dr. Wolff was finally diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of 16. His experiences as a patient ignited his passion to provide the best care for those who similarly suffer from gastrointestinal disease. He is extremely dedicated to his patients and is nationally recognized for his personable, compassionate, and humanistic approach to clinical medicine. Dr. Wolff graduated summa cum laude from Yale University where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He completed his medical training at the New York University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Wolff completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at NYU Langone Medical Center. During this time, he was elected Internal Medicine Resident of the Year and Gastroenterology Fellow of the Year. He has authored numerous publications and book chapters in the fields of mucosal immunology and inflammatory bowel disease and continually presents original work at national and international conferences. He has received several awards for his professionalism, research, teaching, and dedication to service. Dr. Wolff’s clinical expertise encompasses the breadth of gastroenterology and endoscopy, and he has a particular interest in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of celiac and inflammatory bowel diseases, intestinal bleeding and peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic liver disease, and cancers of the digestive tract.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.
