A member asked:

How do you treat a child with pinworms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pinworms: Until recently, mebendezole (vermox) 100mg chewable tablet once for affected patient and all household members was considered the drug of choice. Now that drug is no longer being produced, Albendazole (albenza)10/mg/kg (400 mg max dose)once is a good alternative. Washing all bed linens in very hot water to destroy eggs shed during the worm's nocturnal emergence is traditionally recommended.
