Constipation: If you have an urge to move your bowels and can't, you should try working from below rather than take more laxatives. Try gylcerin rectal suppositories, dulcolax rectal suppositories or a gentle enema. Taking senokot (senna) daily may help. If you still can't have a bm, you need to be checked for impaction or other blockage. Abdominal pain and vomiting would make an exam urgent. See a md as needed.

Retained Gall Stone: It is possible that there is yet another 'retained' gallstone in the bile ducts, not previously evident. This will take some studies (perhaps ct scan or mri) to confirm. If so, it can often be treated/removed without additional open surgery via a procedure called ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography), often as an outpatient. You should contact your surgeon sooner rather than later.
