"eye buggers": Assuming its not related to an infectious viral or bacterial conjunctivitis (commonly referred to as pink eye), then this usually represents matter that collects at the eye lid margins. Using a wash cloth and baby shampoo to remove scruff and debris from the eye lashes will help minimize the accumulation of crusty matter.

Sleepers: The material that accumulates in the nasal cornea of the eyes overnight is a combination of dried tears, mucous, oil, and airborne dirt and debris. Some people may get this, or a mucoid material during the day, especially in cases of eye allergy or dry eye. Using artificial tears (Systane, refresh) and possibly allergy drops (zaditor, alaway) can help, as can cleaning the eyelids and lashes daily.
