MRSA: Mrsa which is methicillin resistant staph would not be killed by augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate).. The topical steroids could make the inflammation better so you could think that it was cured. Actually the infection can spread worse if topical steroids are used because they suppress the immune system. You would need to have a bacterial culture and determine which antibiotic will kill the mrsa.

Of course: Mrsa is a type of bacteria. Steroids is not a treatment. Many people are colonized by this organism without any symptoms. After successful treatment, you can be colonized again. Mrsa is not a diagnosis. The antibiotic is used for a diagnosis. You neglected to state the diagnosis for which you took these meds.
