How do acute, short-term drops in bp cause kidney damage and/or failure? what should i watch for? occurred multiple times after ich/hydrocephalus.

Dr. James Lin answered

It's because...: The elderly with multiple medical conditions such as poor kidney function, hypertension, diabetes, etc. Tend to be more vulnerable to sudden BP drop resulting in further kidney damage by poor circulation and ischemia of kidneys. But its degree may vary and be unpredictable. For the time being, try not standing up quickly, keep up more adaptable exercise, and adjust medication... Talk with doctors.
