Carotid pain: This is an uncommon cause of neck pain. It is a clinical diagnosis that the doctor probably made because you had tenderness in that area. If you are on Prednisone for this condition, speak with your doctor and see if there is anything else you could take instead. Prednisone has a lot of potential side effects.
