Gel drops?: Did you use a gel forming tear drop? This is a tea drop that is designed to form a gel on the corneal surface to coat the cornea. Usually used just before sleeping. Can blur the vision and not recommended for daytime use.

Tears for what?: Artificial tears are to supplement natural tears when they are deficient. The tears should make the eyes feel better after use. If your eyes feel blurry and heavy, then perhaps they are the wrong thing to use. For what did you think artificial tears were for?
